what art is and what artists do.

the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power, the various branches of creative activity, such as music, literature, and dance.

making art is the most important thing that artists do. their primary task is to create the art of their choice.

this may include installations, sculptures, paintings, drawings, pottery, videos or any other mediums. some artists incorporate a number of different mediums into their work.

art can take many forms, but with the exception of some conceptual art, art is the expression of an idea in some sort of physical form. artists need to work consistently and produce a body of quality work so much of their time is spent in the studio doing just that.

artists are not human photocopiers. they make art for a reason, and try to share their ideas and visions with others.

artists spend quite a bit of time observing the world around them. they ponder things, people, politics, nature, mathematics, science, and religion.

they observe color, texture, contrast, and emotion.

I do think that art can change society. I don’t think it’s one artwork that does it, I think it’s the collective effort of artists and institutions together.

Mid-Term Project

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

I made flip books in pakistan about my life.

The title of flipbooks was (sawal) and then i made in response of that flipbooks one video and title is (jawab)

I and anne did installation about our journey, i choose the windows side because when we open the window you can see different boards are coming from window and outside of the window there are a lot of other things that we are hiding from people’s.

Abstract painting shows our feelings,

White is my favorite color i used that color and anne chose her favorite colors on installation.

I really enjoyed this project we explored to many things.

Collaborate work is amazing, we learned from each other in this mid term project. And its 1st time that im working in a group.

I Always tryed to explore mediums and do something new in my assignments,

It’s like a performing art people can write, or may be something creative they do what ever they feel.

Walking alone and experience all the new things that you don’t know about it before that feeling is amazing i think.

Reading response: Rebecca Solnit, the Shape of a Walk:

I really enjoyed this reading consisted of many artworks. For example it really helped me to visualize and understand more about art things. An ordinary one from which the extraordinary can be derived is walking I found this quote to be particularly true and identify well with the class and with art making. I like the suggestion that walking drawing on a grand scale, whatever we encounter and do on our walks are not unlike strokes on a canvas. I do agree with the part near to end where it states that walking is for reflection I always go out of walk to refresh and rethink.

And when ever I go out and start noticing other things I mean new thoughts came out of minds, its amazing experience and interesting topic that I read.

Intro Unit Project: Tempo Zulu

Piazza del Campo is the principal public space of the historic center of Siena the twice-a-year horse race, the Palio di Siena is held around the edges of the piazza.

Fountain of the world was built in 1419 as an endpoint of the system conduits bringing water to the city’s center.

I was really thinking to create an art work on a place which attracted me the most while my stay in Siena. The thing which attracts me the most in the architecture of this place in addition, its a place where people spend their time with loved ones which reminds me of the days with my beloved family members.

I can see people happy and satisfied in this area, the peace which I have been searching for I found in this place.

When I see people smiling it gives me a kind of unexplainable pleasure.

For that reason I chose to add some beauty to this historical places to make it more memorable.
