Artist’s talk with Francesca Banchelli

Snapshots from yesterday’s artist’s talk with Francesca Banchelli.

Francesca Banchelli, born in Montevarchi, trained as an artist at Saint Martin’s College in London. In her work she weaves together different disciplines, such as performance, video, drawing and painting, often organizing the various media in large multi-faceted installations. Fascinated by the dimension of unpredictability linked to the realization of public events, the artist Francesca Banchelli often relies on radical experiments with collaborative projects. Through drawings and painting she elaborates characters who then become the subjects of performances or videos, or vice versa, the drawings become the continuation of scenarios that are difficult to fully express through live actions.
