Join us on Saturday December 2 from 4 to 6 P.M. for our Fall Show 2023!

The rooms of Il Punto | The Point cultural centre in Via E. S. Piccolomini 2 will host the exhibition of the artworks created by Siena Art Institute and Siena School for Liberal Arts students during their stay in Siena, Italy. Clay Sculpture, Painting, Digital Multimedia, Silversmithing, Creative Writing, Interdisciplinary Projects are some of the courses our young artists from the USA, Greece, South Korea took part in for the Fall 2023 Semester.

Il 2 dicembre dalle 16 alle 18 presso Il Punto|The Point in Via E. S. Piccolomini 2, gli studenti greci, americani, sudcoreani di Siena Art Institute e Siena School for Liberal Arts metteranno in mostra le opere ispirate al loro periodo di studio e residenza a Siena. Tra le discipline studiate dai giovani artisti digital multimedia, scultura ceramica, artigianato orafo, scrittura creativa, progetti interdisciplinari.

DARIO PRUONTO

SCRIVERE COSE, PARLARE CON I MURI. A VOLTE VICEVERSA.

I muri delle città ci parlano, da sempre.
Se si approccia alla città con il giusto sguardo si può rimanere affascinati dai tanti piccoli ritagli di tessuto urbano indecisi, spazi non colonizzati dalle logiche della comunicazione istituzionale o pubblicitaria, che accolgono i messaggi, le poesie e le firme di anonimз passantз. Margini smisurati e variopinti nei quali si incrociano parole, contingenze e il territorio marcato dall’uomo. Urgenze. Scritte sui muri.
Ripartire da queste scritte, e dallo scrivere poeticamente i muri, diventa un modo di esistere fissando il tempo e lo spazio in una meticolosa mappatura diversa da quella prettamente geografica. Un dialogo con il tessuto urbano che apre una possibilità di lettura del mondo urgente, assurda, immaginaria e reale, ma soprattutto alternativa all’ordine esistente. Una nuova narrazione dei luoghi che abitiamo e delle comunità che viviamo.

L’ARTISTA

Dario Pruonto in arte CAOS, 1992. Vive e lavora tra Milano e Torino. Figura di riferimento della poesia di strada italiana, la sua ricerca esplora la relazione tra linguaggio poetico e contesto urbano concentrandosi sui temi dell’incomunicabilità, del confine e dell’identità.

Since 2018, the Siena Art Institute has collaborated in a residency partnership co-sponsored by Pratt Institute’s School of Design and Pratt Fine Arts.

Our Fall 2023 students at the Siena Art Institute and Siena School for Liberal Arts come from diverse background and different countries, but have coalesced as a fabulous group.  Together we have been exploring our city of Siena and the surrounding territory with our staff and teachers.  The time has been flying by, it’s incredible to think that our end-of-semester exhibition will be coming up soon on December 2nd! 
Our students have lots of exciting final projects underway and we look forward to sharing them with our community.  Stay tuned for more!

Our Fall 2023 has hosted an impressive line-up of resident artists, offering inspiration to our students and our Sienese community.
