Presentation by Project Fellowship artist Imran Qureshi
Cultural aperitivo with Imran Qureshi who, having exhibited at the MOMA in New York and at the Barbican in London, has come to Siena for a special project.
The Pakistani artist was featured in a public meeting to present his project designed and produced for the Sienese territory. An appointment in which he discussed his style bridging traditions of Pakistani miniature painting and contemporary art, and also of Sienese traditions, from the Renaissance past to the contemporary.
Qureshi’s Project Fellowship at the Siena Art Institute will be from October 15 to November 5 and will carry out a site-specific project designed for the Civic Museum of San Gimignano. http://sienaart.org/Dettaglio-figura/id:260/

Visit to Siena’s Salone degli Arazzi
We had a very special visit this morning to Siena’s Salone degli Arazzi, a room with beautiful historic tapestry inside the personal apartment of the local governor, with our students from the Siena School for Liberal Arts and the Siena Art Institute, instructors Roberto Fineschi, Lisa Nonken, and Bernardo Giorgi, and writer-in-residence Mairead Bryne! Thanks to our student, Konstantinos, for the suggestion of the visit! 🙂
